Duke and Ole Miss: Black Strippers & Black Jews

Meh, work sucks, kay there's my rant, no effort to go on further. Finally got around to playing two easy games against two of America's finest institutions: Duke and Ole Miss. Duke of course not really know for football (they're a lacrosse school) was no match for Namath's Tide as Darby ran for 180 YRDs and 2 TDs in a 41-10 victory. But all is not gloomy in Chapel Hill, here' s some random girls wishing Reade Seligman, (everyone's favorite Duke lacrosse player) good luck. Read the message boards too, man youtube message boards can be really harsh. Oh and looks like in real life, Duke football is keeping up with the school's high academic standards .

Next game Ole Miss

width="100Am I the only one that finds it amusing that their projected starting quarterback for the upcoming season is Brent Schaeffer, a black jew? Anyways Ole Miss proved no match as Bama came out with a 44-14 victory with Darby running for 4 TDs on 160 YRDs. However despite this conference win, I was very sad as I noticed during gameplay that Colonel Reb, the Ole Miss mascot was missing from the sidelines. I love masocts, the reason why I won't use Oregon (even though I like the actual team) is because the game doesn't have the Donald Duck mascot we all know and love. I won't go into details (just look at the cute picture of him lynching the LSU Tiger), but you can read a brief history of Colonel Reb and also a good ESPN article on him. But we all know that Colonel Reb was actually based on a black man, Blind Jim Ivy. Ole Miss has a rep for being Racist, but come one Deuce and Jame Meredith all had desires to go to Ole Miss. I mean a mascot should represent what the school is about and if Ole Miss is about Old Men with funny beards, that so be it. Bring back Colonel Reb!!

BAMA UPSETS FLORIDA 28-21

Last year, Alabama's star WR, Tyrone Prothro suffured a horrible injury during the Florida game. This year Prothro made his huge comeback and so did the Tide .(well in Mylosh's Dynasty, I hope Prothro gets back to playing in real life, though things don't look so good) Alabama went to the Swamp against the #1 ranked Gators and in the 1st half it looked like it would stay that way with UF leading 21-7 and Chris Leak already throwing for 3 TDs. Sadly enough Leak was injured at the start of 3rd quarter (out for six weeks) and a nervous Tim Tebow could not handle the experienced Tide D. SR. March Guillon began the comeback throwing to Keith Brown for 2 TDs, while Prothro made some key catches to set up those TDs. He finished with 124 YRDs while also playing DB in dime sets. Also Ramzee Robinson led the secondary with 2 key INTs

up next: Rape U, no not Colorado silly.

In tribute to Tyrone, here is his famous catch from last year

Bama Struggles at 2-2, Up Next: #1 Florida

Oh Geeez. Looks like its going to take me awhile to adjust to this game. Played through 1/3 of the season and the Namath led Alabama squad is 2-2 with the #1 ranked Florida Gators up next. Here's some brief recaps

Hawaii 23, (#24) Bama 17 - Tuscaloosa
Maybe I took it easy on them because their my people (pacific islanders) or maybe because I spent all of NCAA 06 using a dominant USC team, but the Tide got worked by this team from the WAC. Simply put: Bama's secondary could not handle Hawaii passing. The Tide will have to recruit heavy at all DB positions. Baseball star John Parker Wilson (who is in a tough position to try and replace Brodie Croyle) was 17-23 with 203 Yards, however he had no TDs and threw for three INTs Also Namath did not utilize his best player, RB Kenneth Darby who ran for 108 and 1 td.

Bama 44, Vandy 14 - Tuscaloosa
Thank God Jay Cutler is on the Broncos, because frankly he would have worked my DBs. But this time Namath focused in on the running game as Darby ran for 170 Yards and 3TDs, while his version of Lendale White, Tim Castille added in 2 TDs for 66 Yards. Wilson and ex-Miami Hurricane Marc Guillon split Qb durties. No one impressed.

Bama 41, UL Monroe 21 - Tuscaloosa
The Tide were asleep for the first half as UL Monroe led 21-7, thankfully the Tide, actually more like Darby, took charge. Darby finished with 268 YRDs and 3 TDs, inculding a 95 yard TD run from the end zone. Sophmore John Parker Wilson looked a bit better at QB going 11-18, 108 YRDs 3 TDs, no INTs

(#21) Arkansas 35, Bama 22 - Fayetteville
Game was actually closer than it appears. Bama was taking on an undefeated Arkansas team who had earlier upset USC. The Tide had a chance to win with 5 minutes left however Arkansas returned an INT for a TD. QB situation still not addressed. Guillon and Wilson were both mediocre. The Hogs D held

So the brass in Tuscaloosa is none too happy and things don't get easier with a trip to The Swamp to take on #1 UF. But Namath is going stick with the senior Guillon for the start. Oh well if things get bad, Joe can stare into the crowd for some relief or go to The Bank. Errr maybe not

Namath/Bama Era Part Deux

Okay last week I had friends from T.O. over, had a couple goodbye drinks with my "U of A" buddy Tony at a hostel bar (of course pretending to be backpackers) and loads of overtime at work. So of course this meant no time for NCAA. But karma came to sing its sweet song to me and provided me a paid day off to catch up on my responsibilities.

It was no suprise who I was going to pick as my coach (if I get fired I'll continue with Bama, I'll just create a new coach) and of course that would be the one and only Broadway Joe Namath. What's there not to love about this guy! He was a cocky kid from a Hungarian family in PA, who brought his flair to the then segregated SEC. For more info check out this great biography on Broadway Joe by Mark Kriegel. Geez I sounded like such a marketing douche there, but whatever its a sweet read.

Here are the basic settings I'm using:

platform: PS2
quarters: 6 minutes
sliders: still tweaking
level: All American

As for my youtube picks of the day, here's Joe in an old school commercial and of course a classic of Joe, at his finest.

Love ya Joe and Roll Tide.
