bye bye lonelygirl15, hello SEC west title

Once there was a time when it was just me, a purple monkey, a nice girl named bree and her friend dawson, errr I meant daniel, all hanging out on my work desktop computer singing along to Grills. Now its the New York Times and MTV. Even though I suspected the ruse early on and claimed on message boards to not care if lonelygirl15 was real or stage, after watching the most recent "In The Park Video"the interest just wasn't there. I mean c'mon she pops a pill at the end, I should be in ecstacy, but now it just seems lame. Don't worry I'll still ask the lonelygirl15 production team for fantasy football advice. So just like my Trucker Hat (thanks for ruining that for me Pharell and X Games people) and my obsession with hipsters I bid adieu.

And its just in time as the new TV season kicks off (race wars on survivor), an insane Saturday of College Football coming up, and of course my Bama Dynasty. Upset that lonelygirl15 had hit the big time, I played my matcup against LSU. Was this to turnout like the Tide's real life 2005 season, where LSU ruined Bama's undefeated season. Well Bama got off to a 28-7 lead at the half, even though LSU had stopped the run. But the 2nd half proved to be a different story, I could not get my offence going, nor could I stop their running game. Next thing I know the score was 35-28 for LSU. However SO QB Chad Arnold, summoning the powers of Helen Keller, led an 88 yard drive for a TD, with FR Brandon Luke making several key plays including an amazing one handed catch in the end zone. There was still 1 minute left and LSU had the ball, but Canadian Quentin Rawls (rated 94 overall) made two sacks. Memphis native Keith Meade returned the punt to put Bama in FG range. Bama came out on top 38-35.

Arnold finished with 303 yards and 3 TDs while True FR Luke had 8 REC for 133 yards and 1 TD. Bama goes into the Iron Bowl at Auburn with the SEC West Title and an 11-0 record. Auburn at 6-4 will be without star RB Ben Tate, who is injured for the year. Bama sits at #4 in the BCS.

Oh and here mrs.pancake day, you can send this to all your old OSU alum, as this is pre-game footage of Michigan QB's Chad Henne's high school team. The Coach uses his final cut pro skills to motivate his team (courtesy of the lovely folks at everdayshouldbesaturday)

easy Miss State victory and LG15 swan song

Okay so I couldn't sim the game like i said I would, I was just having too much fun with my team this year. And as expected, Bama dominated with a 52-14 victory. Here's some quick notes in point form, because paragraphs suck today

- SO WR . Joel Thompson had over 200 total yards and added in 1 rec TD and 1 KR TD.
- DE Jason Parker returned from his 2 game suspension for fighting with a parking cop (the parking cop was probably racist so that's why I didn't suspend him for the recommended 4 games)
- SR backup QB and Team Captain Jimmy Barnes was perfect in relief of starter Chad Arnold going 4-4 with 72 yards and 2 TDs

Bama is now 10-0 and ranked #5 in all polls including the BCS as they go into the game of the week vs. 8-1 and #13 ranked LSU. SEC West title is on the the line, with LSU's only loss being out of conference to #2 ranked and undefeated Notre Dame. Coach Namath does not care about the BCS, his focus is on the SEC West first.

And it looks like the lonelygirl15 saga is coming to an end However I will still keep asking her for fantasy football advice on her message board and myspace and hey her's is now the #1 most subscribed channel on youtube of all time.

cheers for now

whoa creepy song for jessica rose

okay I just listened to the audio in the link I posted in the previous post, errrrr creepy. but alas the guy who made the video tries to defend himself. for decent coverage on the lonelygirl15 saga go to New York Times's Virginia Heffernan's blog I agree with the Sally post at 9:48 PM EST on Heffernan's blog. I care more about the bandaid on her arm and the meaning of lemonade in the House Arrest video than about her real life persona, but its cool to know that she's over 18, hardy har

also I forgot to mention

Roll Tide

top searches of the day & bush vs. gore Dec 3rd

On this day of historical importance look what happens to be the #2 most searched item. Anyways I finally mustered enough courage to talk to that girl. Uhhh ya regular readers know who I'm talking about, click on the photo and try and figure out which comment is mine. Anyways I was legitmately away from a CPU yesterady, it was the first NFL Sunday of the season. I'm in several fantasy leagues so I had to venture to a bar with NFL Sunday Ticket. Only in my work pool do I seem to have a victory in week 1. Bush was sick, (Reggie that is), but I felt bad as he was going against my Cleveland Browns. I felt like Mrs. Manning. Gore played well too with two TDs. Hahaha on December 3rd Bush vs. Gore All I can say is thank you NFL for being wise in not scheduling this game for today.

So despite my Sunday NFL watching and beachcombing I managed to sneak in a game which was an 87-28 blowout of Army. I am going to sim my game against 1-7 Mississippi st. which will lead into an important matchup against LSU. I'll try and sneak in a game before bedtime.

In the mean time enjoy these

if you're confused with laguna beach season 3, watch this report, it only starts to get funny (in my opinion) in the middle, so you can skip to 2:50

if you don't know who high schoolers O.J. Mayo and Bill Walker are, watch this video of the future Trojan and Kansas State Wildcat. Sure to be lottery picks in 2008.

also for those of us who quit academia, view The Best Sentence of the Day for reason not to ever go back, see you go crazy!

oh gotta get off the CPU, Gov. Arnold in the Monday Night booth

a fine saturday night

click on photo for better view

Here we go, I did it, I posted on a Saturday night (even though blogger.com allows its users to change the date on a post) and I'm not ashamed of it. Being on the internet a lot I noticed that blogger and myspace users won't post on a Saturday or Friday night because doing so would be "social suicide" (yes that was stolen from Mean Girls). But whats not to love about staying in on this particular Saturday Night and in all honesty even if I had plans, I would have still stayed in. Why? Let's see there was Ohio St. / Texas (show me the money, how in the world were the Bucks underdogs, easiest bet of the year), Sharapova wins the US Open, lonelygirl15 reveals that she's sneaking out of the house to go to a party and I found someone streaming Season 3 of Laguna Beach, which for fear of MTV taking it down I won't link the user, just pm or myspace me if you want the link. (CL I love this season, I don't know why you don't like it) But last and most important is the fact that I got to play my game against rival Tennessee.

Bama came into the game ranked #6 at 7-0 while Tennessee was 6-1 and ranked #23. This matchup turned out to be the most exciting one I've had this year. The Vols had a RB from Mississippi named Jamal Bates whom I tried to recruit and he was outstanding, but FR New Hampshire native Steve Ferguson would have the game of a lifetime. Most of the game had Bama up by 3 points until Feguson broke free late in the 4th quarter with several third down conversions (in the air and on the ground) and finally a 21 yard TD for a 36-26 lead. However with only 30 seconds on the clock, Vols QB Crompton threw an 82 yard TD pass to Bates (who finished with 2 rusing TDs as well) to make the score 36-33. Luckily Bama recovered the onside kick attempt. Ferguson was the game MVP with 170 yards and 3 TDs,along with 41 rec yards. The Tide now sit at 8-0 and a #5 BCS ranking. There are two easy games against Army and Miss St. before a matcup with LSU who at 'press' , haha I mean post time, was undefeated in the SEC.

What a great night and I need it because tomorrow morning I'll watch my 3rd favorite college player of all time Reggie Bush, go up against my beloved Browns. Its like picking between LC or Kristen oh wait, that's so last year, I mean Tessa and Lexie, Drama Drama Drama.

p.s. INSIDE JOKE WARNING long distance quote of the night, our favorite PHD student with Harvard Parents (DM) said "I wish Colt McCoy didn't save that boy, only so that Brent Musberger wouldn't yap about it" ---> Musberger Drinking Game

p.p.s. there was one thing that upset me tonight and that was the fact that BC Liquor stores changed the style on their new bags. Booo the new bags suck, what the heck is up with the font and the black outline around it. (yes I did drink by myself tonight)
